How to prevent injury to yourself when carrying out manual handling:
- Preferably push pallet jacks
- Plan lift (pathway clear)
- Verify the weight of load ask for help if needed
- Make sure muscles are warmed up
- Keep neck and back straight and bend down at the knees
- Grip and hold load as close to your body as possible
- Raise load back straight, slowly straighten legs, Shift load close to your body, and keep close to your body at all times
